The Orleans Hotel and Casino
The Orleans is a hotel and casino located on West Tropicana Avenue in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is a New Orleans themed establishment that opened on the 28th of December 1996. The hotel and casino is owned by Boyd Gaming and features the Orleans Arena as its signature attraction. The arena opened in 2003 and is a large area used for multi-purposes including an ice rink.
There is a free shuttle service available every thirty minutes that provides transport to and from the sister casino, The Gold Coast and the Las Vegas Strip.

The Orleans has won a variety of awards over the years. These include the Wine spectator award of excellence in 2014; 1st place being the best casino offering penny slots in Las Vegas in 2012 and 2013; the Prime Rib Loft certificate of excellence in 2013; hotel certificate of excellence in 2013. In 2012 awards for 2nd place in best dollar slots; video poker and reel slots were won amongst others.

There are 1 886 rooms and suites available at The Orleans. The rooms are considered to be petite suites as the rooms have a separate lounge area. The rooms either overlook views of the strip or they face the mountains around the Las Vegas valley. A 40 000 sq. ft. meeting space is available for banquets and other events.
There is a pool available with private cabanas as well as a fitness centre that provides a wide assortment of workout equipment. Apart from the Arena there is the showroom which also hosts live entertainment. Century Orleans 18 is a cinema that shows the latest films and there is also a 70 lane bowling alley. Smaller children are kept entertained at Kids Tyme which is an indoor playground while the whole family has access to an arcade offering a range of interactive and video games.
The Orleans is home to a variety of restaurants from fine dining to casual establishments. These include The Prime Rib Loft; Alder and Birch; Big Al’s Oyster Bar; Courtyard Café; French Market Buffet; Ondori Asian Kitchen; TGI Friday’s; Fuddruckers; Sbarro and Subway. Bars include Brendan’s Irish Pub and Bourbon Street Cabaret which is a Louisiana styled lounge that showcases live entertainment.

The Orleans casino features a 125 seater sports book for all sports betting and racing events. There is also a poker room which has been voted the best in Las Vegas by readers of the Las Vegas Review Journal. The poker room has 35 tables offering Texas hold ‘em; Omaha high-lo; seven card stud and more. A twenty four hour keno lounge that seats 60 people is also available.
